The treadmill is flat, compact only a few inches tall. It arrived ready to use. I only had to connect the power cord to the machine and plug it in and press on the power switch. As a newbie, I locked the handlebar in the raised position, which I can do using the large knobs on either side of the treadmill. Taking a look at the control panel on the handlebar, it's straightforward for me to navigate. From left to right, there is a training program button labeled PROG, a minus button to decrease speed, a start button, a pause/stop button, a plus button to increase speed and a mode button MOD.Before I begin my walking or running session, I made sure to place the magnetic end of the orange safety tether key onto the yellow rectangular surface located at the center of the control panel on the handlebar. The other end of the safety tether key has a strong clip that I securely fastened to my shirt. This precautionary measure is in place in case I lose my balance while on the treadmill. If that happens, I may fall and the magnet detaches from the control panel, which promptly stops the treadmill's running belt.To confirm it's working, I let the treadmill run and then I deliberately pulled off the magnet. As I expected, the treadmill's running belt came to an immediate halt. Therefore, I've come to understand the importance of wearing the safety tether key regardless of the speed at which I intend to walk or run. It provides me peace of mind and ensures added safety during my workouts.Despite the safety tether key being a crucial safety feature, the user guide fails to provide instructions on how to properly run on the treadmill. To fill this gap, I had to search instructional videos on YouTube and TikTok. After my online research, I learned how to run on the treadmill safely and effectively. For instance, it's important to start at a manageable speed and gradually increase it as I gain confidence. Maintaining proper posture, focusing on a soft landing with each step, and to keep the head facing forward. Additionally, when wrapping up my session, it's essential to gradually decrease the speed and allow the treadmill to come to a complete stop. I also learned to never jump on a running treadmill - it can lead to terrible accidents. However, I did find that the user guide includes a warm-up and cool-down routine, which is beneficial. It suggests performing exercises such as head rolls, shoulder lifts, side stretches, quadriceps stretches, inner thigh stretches, toe touches, hamstring stretches, and calf/Achilles stretches. I incorporated these routines into my treadmill sessions and it has helped me feel more prepared. There is also remote included that is attached to a snap-on wristband so I can wear it instantly. I have the same functions as with the control panel on the handlebar.Located at the bottom front of the treadmill is a display panel where I can see the workout metrics at a glance. It shows my current exercise time, running speed, distance covered, and estimated calories burned. This allows me to easily track my progress and monitor key training statistics during my workout sessions. With the MODE button, I can set my own exercise goals, whether it's based on time, distance, or the number of calories I want to burn. For instance, if I aim to burn approximately 60 calories during my workout, I press the MODE button until CALORIES blinks, and then I adjust the desired calorie target using the MINUS and PLUS buttons.Furthermore, the treadmill has twelve preset exercise programs I can set with the PROG button. These programs, listed from P01 to P12 in the user guide, vary in intensity and challenge level. Program P01 is the least, P12 is the most challenging program. In addition to the twelve preset exercise programs available on the treadmill, there are three more training programs I can choose from when the treadmill is set to walkpad mode. However, I have to lower the handlebar to access this three programs, which I'm hesitant to do as I prefer running with it up for quick access to the control panel and safety. And I have to use the remote control.Furthermore, in walkpad mode, the highest speed is limited to 5 mph, which is still too slow for my fitness goals. I typically aim to run 7 mph for at least 5 minutes or more to push myself and achieve a more rigorous workout. Nonetheless, the walkpad mode would be ok for somebody who has a standing office desk, which I don't own yet.The treadmill has built-in speakers that work with Bluetooth. I entered my Android tablets Bluetooth settings to connect the treadmill’s speakers. The volume is louder than on my tablet.Running on the treadmill feels less strenuous on my joints compared to outdoor running. Despite wearing cushioned running shoes and insoles, I often experienced discomfort and achiness after outdoor runs. However, on the treadmill, I can extend my runs without as much joint pain. The running belt's softer surface is gentler on my feet, unlike the unevenness of grass or hard pavement.Besides, I place my treadmill in front of my window AC unit to cool me off. Outside, I would be sweating heavily and my sun screen would run off my skin guaranteeing me a sunburn. That's why I prefer my treadmill now. I used to run outside a lot but here in steaming hot South Florida, its torture and my body can’t sustain that much hardship any longer. To have more fun, I installed the MyWhoosh app on my large tablet and placed it on a tripod in front of the treadmill. This app is similar to Zwift but without subscription fee. During the setup of the app, I could connect the treadmill via Bluetooth and switched to the running platform inside the app. It is working and I can virtual CGI tracks but I noticed that the stats are lagging and sometimes it just freezes.Another app I tried is FitShow. It also connected seamlessly with my treadmill and I could start running right away. It uses videos of running paths. The video playback speed syncs with my running speed. I did not experience any lagging and I can see my speed displayed on the app in real time. The third app I tried with my treadmill is Zwift. Even though Zwift takes a few gigabytes of storage on my tablet, it’s worth it. I could link my treadmill instantly inside the app and got ready to run. Zwift feels the most immersive to me as I can hear the birds chirping, the wind blowing and people cheering all through the treadmill’s speakers. Further, Zwift uses virtual environments to display routes similar to the MyWhoosh app. Zwift works the best for me as it doesn’t randomly freeze and I don’t experience any lagging. When I change the speed of my treadmill, I can instantly see it in the Zwift app.The treadmill also comes with two items related to maintenance. There's an Allen wrench to readjust the running belt in case it’s shifting to one side or slipping. The treadmill has one adjustment bolt on each side of the running belt on the back. I’ve been running on the treadmill for over 3 weeks and I haven’t had to readjust so far.I also received a small bottle of silicone lubricant which I applied below the running belt. In the user guide, it suggests to lubricate after the first 25 hours of use (roughly 2 to 3 months). I already ran over 25 hours and so I didn’t wait 2 months or more to check the condition under the running belt. I lifted the running belt and I could feel that the top surface of the running deck is dry. It should be slick to the touch. I applied, according to the user guide and reputable YouTube videos, a few dips under the center of the running belt on top surface of the running deck. Afterwards, I let the treadmill run at a low speed for a few minutes to distribute the lubricant evenly. When I’m done exercising, I can hide it underneath my sofa. I don’t have to drag or carry it as its wheels allow me to slide it.
